Programs for Youth

ICAN offers FREE, high-quality out-of-school time programming for youth in the East Valley.

Programs are held at the main ICAN campus (650 E. Morelos St, Chandler), as well as at site-based locations in Chandler (Galveston Elementary and Hartford Elementary) and Mesa (Longfellow Elementary and Adams Elementary).

During the school year, programming runs Monday–Friday from 3:00–6:00 PM, and during summer and school breaks from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. ICAN provides free transportation to the main site, with pickups from Frye, San Marcos, Bologna, Andersen, Bogle, Willis, and Chandler High.

Youth participants receive a daily snack and dinner, and must attend the program a minimum of three days per week. A parent orientation is required prior to enrollment.

ICAN is a license-exempt child care facility.

The 5 C’s of Positive
Youth Development

All of ICAN’s programs focus on Positive Youth Development, a nationally-recognized youth engagement model that focuses not on “fixing” behavior problems, but building and nurturing all a child’s beliefs, behaviors, knowledge, attributes and skills. All activities and lessons have an emphasis on the “5 C’s of Positive Youth Development” – confidence, character, competence, connection and contribution.
